Useful Tip: Wheelchair Secret To A Better Night Sleep

People confined to wheelchairs often have issues falling asleep at night.  The limbs of paraplegics and quadriplegics can become boney and feel like dead weight.  If you sleep on your side, the dead weight of the top leg can rest on the bottom leg while you sleep, creating pressure spots. This creates issues when lying horizontal in bed at night.  If you’re in a wheelchair (paraplegic, quadriplegic, etc) having a hard time getting comfortable and sleeping, try using a body pillow.  Hug the pillow with your right arm if you’re going to sleep on your left side, and put the bottom half of the body pillow between your legs. When you wake up in the middle of the night, flip over to the other side and do the same.

Hopefully this will allow for a better night sleep.  Let me know how it works out!
